I have searched high and low for this particular planner. It was sold out everywhere. Luckily, I found it at the Kate Spade Outlet! The planner comes in a bunch of colors. Great for each season of the year in case you like to switch out your planners. I am a “Planner Newbie”. I didn’t realize there was a Planner World out there with people who create so many cool and beautiful planner setups! I have had planners before but after googling planner setups and checking #planneraddicts on Instagram, I was amazed at how creative people can get with their planners. So, I wanted in on the fun! I am a paper lover and love being creative. I figured if I really get into setting up my pages in a creative way I would be more excited about using my agenda.
For the October bath and beauty favorites, I decided to do something a little bit differently. Instead of giving your guys MY personal favorites for the month, I got some help from my followers! I had a few contributions and I picked two ladies: Tania and Linda. They shared some fabulous favorites and I can’t wait to try them myself.
Of course I had to show my appreciation to these ladies from taking the time out to contribute to this post. Sooo, to help with their next purchase of beauty products, they received a $10 gift card to SEPHORA!
A friend of mine suggested that I take a look at a YouTube video by OrganizedJen, a professional organizer who shared this idea on her channel. And boy am I happy I watched it!
I have A LOT of things on my plate right now and projects I am currently working on and new projects coming up. I also have a million gazillion notebooks and journals all over the place and post it notes hoarding in all of my purses. My ideas are basically ALL OVER THE PLACE. It’s hard to keep track of them when they are all scattered about. So, I decided to make myself a “Project Management” notebook like OrganizedJen uses everyday.
The Project Management Notebook can be used by anyone in any professional or lifestyle. You can be a entrepreneur, student, housewife, blogger, designer, artist, whoever. This organizing tool is helpful and the best part is your can make it so that it is functional just for you!
My Project Management Notebook is designed to help me organize personal and professional projects for myself and TheStylishDork.com.
Now, I will explain the process of making the notebook and its functionality. Take a look!
Here is what you will need:
Moleskin Notebook-Volant (They come in a pack of 2)
Stickers or any type of decorations you want to use to personalize your notebook.
Before I decorated the cover of my notebook. I created small tabs for the categories I wanted to divide my notebook in. I suggest for you to buy actual tabs and place them in your notebook. I had to do some extra cutting and sticking with my SMASH tabs. (Long Story LOL)
Once I affixed the tabs in their designated spaces, I went ahead and labelled each tab with a category. The Main Categories are at the top: Goals (6months), Project MGMT and TheStylishDork Blog.
The tabs on the sides are Sub-categories for TheStylishDork Blog. Each section will be where I write down my ideas and projects for each category. It’s easy to just flip to each tab to see what I want to do next or jot down an idea.
Instead of making my notebook yearly, I decided to do it for 6months. As you can see the Goals section will consist of PROFESSIONAL and PERSONAL goals. I also have them color coded so that I can visually differentiate the two. On the side I have a section to place a CHECK MARK to keep track of my progress 🙂
Under the Project Management tab, my projects will be organized monthly. So every month I will jot down ideas, plans and projects. The entire notebook is organized this way. Even the sub categories on the sides.
On the inside pocket of my notebook I added two cute little envelopes (Micheal’s Craft Store) to house extra tabs and to put my random folded up post it notes in. I used double-sided tape to keep them neatly in place.
Then I went to town and decorated my new
PROJECT MANAGEMENT NOTEBOOK!
I made this notebook last month (September was so busy for me I didn’t even have time to write in the notebook 😦 But, this is a new month and I will be putting this baby to use. I’m excited!
If you decide to try this out, let me know what you think and useful it has been for you in organizing your projects.
You know the old saying “treat others how you would like to be treated”. Of course you do. Do we all do that? Of course we don’t. When people in our lives or even strangers treat us poorly, it’s hard to be friendly and caring in return. If you find yourself in a situation where someone is not treating you with love and respect and you have done nothing wrong, please understand that what they are doing to you has nothing to do with YOU. Don’t let cruelty from others turn you into something you’re not. Don’t be spiteful or seek revenge. Instead, BE THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU WANT TO MEET. Be caring, encouraging and a joy to be around. Yes we all get mad but don’t let adversity consume you.
To start off 2013, I decided to make a vision board! I wanted to create a visual display of my future goals and dreams. So, I pulled out some colored paper, magazines, scissors and glue and created my VISUAL PATH.
A VISION BOARD is a visual collage of where you see yourself in the future. It can be dedicated to a specific timeframe (5 year goals etc) or it can display what you want out of life. It is YOUR board and there is no wrong or right way to do it. So, you can be as creative (and messy) as you want!
I really enjoyed creating my vision board. There is so much I want out of life and I also realized how much I have achieve thus far. I have it out in the open and seeing it everyday really helps to keep me motivated.
Without further a do, I present to you, MY VISION BOARD.
Make sure you have plenty of magazines!
Cut whatever you want out of them to add them to your board
Have some markers on hand. I also bought some glittered scrapbook paper from the craft store just to
add a little sparkle to my board. This is YOUR board, so be as CREATIVE as YOU want!
I used my scrapbook stamps to do shape cut-outs with the colored paper.
The possibilities are ENDLESS!
Once I cut pictures of out the magazines, I went around the edges with my CrAzY scissors. Just to add a
little fun to the clippings.
Of course things got STICKY! (hehe)
I used the shape cut-outs as confetti and glued them randomly on my board.
Before you glue your VISION board pictures, organize them on your board. Once you’ve decided on the final layout,
go ahead and glue it down.
And Voila’! VISION BOARD COMPLETE!
Stay Motivated and Keep Pushing! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!
Whenever you feel discouraged, just look at YOUR board for a few minutes and tell yourself,
“I CAN AND WILL ACHIEVE ALL OF THIS!”
