This is definitely baby season! I know so many couples expecting soon and I am just filled with excitement! Preparing to bring home a new baby can we overwhelming and EXCITING! What better way for mommy and daddy to welcome baby home but to their new cute and stylish nursery. Of course baby will be too young to appreciate it but, that’s what pictures are for!(hehe) A nursery is just not for baby but, for parents to have somewhere to keep their new bundle of joy that is slightly different from other areas of the home. A baby’s nursery can be whatever your imagination can come up with. Whether its theme is a kingdom for your little Prince or Princess to rule, a rainforest filled with exotic animals, or something cute and simple with an adorable color scheme. Check out some nursery ideas I thought would tickle your fancy!

(I traveled from Washington DC to Washington State…by train. One of the Best Experiences of my Life)
Some are already aware, but for those who are not, I have recently relocated to beautiful Washington State! I have been wanting to move away for quite some time now. Certain situations have happened in my life in the past couple of months that pushed me to make such a MAJOR change. This was actually one of the biggest decisions I have ever made in my LIFE. I was laid off not too long ago and I sat down with myself and GOD and prayed about what to do next. It’s really amazing how everything worked out to where all things lead to me leaving home. Most people would be down in the dumps but I look at me being laid off as a blessing and an opportunity.Yes, it was a little devastating but, it was not a surprise (you guys know how government contracts work. Time for bids and only one can win). A lot of people asked me “Well, why Washington?” Well, I applied all over the world and the job market is tough. I have never been out of work until now so I can understand what so many Americans are going through. Searching and applying every single day. It’s TOUGH! So, I chose Washington State because I have family here and it’s not the norm I am use to. I’m getting older. The “fast life”, partying etc got old to me a long time ago. Not that I still don’t enjoy a good time but, I’m trying to establish a career and find where I want to settle. I’m at a different place in my life mentally and needed something a little more chill. People seem to choose where they want to live according to what they are accustomed to. That’s all find and dandy, but I wanted something……DIFFERENT. I needed a FRESH START. Just to be clear, this wasn’t a fresh start to “find myself” (I knew who I was before I left home), but a fresh start to gain new experiences, try new things, meet new people. A chance to LIVE. Being laid off is one of the best things that has happened to me in my life. GOD let it happen to give me that extra PUSH. Inside, I wasn’t content with where I was, so HE made it possible for me to change it. (Praise HIM!)
Halloween is just around the corner. This is a great time to start getting your ideas and treats ready for your parties and your little goblin trick or treaters! Of course I am one out of millions who is addicted to Pinterest (go on and admit it that your are too lol) so I wanted to share with you guys some of the cute treats and ideas I liked for Halloween.
I stayed in my area this weekend and took in the beautiful sights of Washington DC. This city has so many extraordinary sights and hidden treasures. I’ve lived here practically my entire life, and I am still discovering new things. People travel from all over the world to see the memorials, museums and culture of DC. It’s crazy how some people who live here take it for granted. I think DC is a beautiful and amazing city, you just have to get out and explore what it has to offer. And trust me, there’s A LOT!
For Sunday Funday as we like to call it, I visited the National Museum of Natural History and the Museum of American History. Then I walked around the National Mall, from the Monument to the World War II Memorial (My favorite memorial and thinking spot), down the Reflecting Pool and to the Lincoln Memorial. It was such a nice day for walking and enjoying the sights. Check out my pics from the day!
This past weekend felt like FALL paid Maryland an early visit. That didn’t stop me from busting out a cute pair of shorts to go out and enjoy the day. It wasn’t too chilly out, but just to be safe I wore my favorite denim vest to add some layers to my look. I hit the mall with my cousin and then we grabbed a bite to eat at Langston’s in DC. I’m still having flashbacks of the delicious fried pork chop I devoured. Mmm Mmm 🙂
