LENT 2017:Spiritual Recharge

Today is the first day of the Lent season! I have really been looking forward to it this year. As some of you may know, I was baptized in November. It was one of the most amazing experiences and decisions I have ever made! I am so happy I made it official to become a follower of Christ. I was actually baptized as a baby when I “was” Catholic, but that is another story for later ;-).

Lent is a time when I RECHARGE and refocus on my relationship with God, myself and others. It is a time when I figure out what I not only want to give up during Lent and after, but also, what I want to gain. Since being baptized, there have been some interesting experiences happening. God didn’t say once you are baptized your life will be perfect. It is the total opposite. But that is where the faith you may not have had before really starts to kick in. You have faith in God’s plan for your life and not so much of your own. HA! God’s plan will leave our plans in the dust, if only we really TRUST him.  It is hard and no walk in the park. Take a moment to think about when things really got tough, and now, look at where you are. See, God’s got you.

Glam’D Up Desk Decor!

IMG_5483

Now, let’s be honest. Most of us spend the majority of our time at work. I mean, we have to make a living right? But it doesn’t mean we have to go to the office every day and look at those same boring gray cubicle walls and the boring desk necessities. Even if you have an office with a window, you can always Glam Up your office space a bit. Give a nice touch that is professional but shows a bit of personality.  YOUR personality.

Special K Parfait!

IMG_5273

I am always on the go. I’m not a morning person, so it is hard for me to get up, let alone have time for breakfast.

So to save time and money, I started making my own fruit and yogurt parfaits! I make it at night and put it in the fridge. Then, in the morning, I can grab it and go! Plus, isn’t using a mason jar just the cutest thing!

All I did was cut into halves 4 strawberries (2 for each layer), add 1 tablespoon of blueberries for each layer, pour in my favorite yogurt, and add some Special K cereal on top. YUM!

Of course you can also add your favorite ingredients. Have fun with it. ENJOY

Bible Study/Prayer Binder

IMG_5116

I am so thrilled that I have finally finished making and setting up my binder I will be using for Bible Study and writing down Prayers. I have been on a spiritual journey for almost two years now  and just wanted to make something that I could write down scriptures, my conversations with GOD and prayers for loved ones and the world. And of course I had to make it nice and cute 🙂 By being able to write down what I am reading in the bible or inspiration I see, I am able to reflect back and refer to things and apply it to my life. I have divided my binder into 5 sections: S.O.A.P, Journal, Prayers, “BLESSON”, and Favorite Verses. Come, take a look inside!

Polka Dot Gift Bag

photo 1-1

I know I can’t be the only person who feels like they are celebrating someone’s birthday like EVERY month. SO, I decided to get a little creative in my gift giving. I did this gift bag during the holiday season because I’m not too big on wrapping gifts when people are just going to rip it open anyway (for adults rather). This is a great idea to show someone how special they are not just for what inside but that you took the time to do a little something extra 😉

“Chalk it Up” Flower Pots

Hey ya’ll! What better way to start the new year than with a new DIY project! YAY!!!  Yes the winter is still going strong (stronger in so areas more than others) but spring is just around the corner. I have been seeing this idea all over Pinterest and what a great idea to welcome in your Spring Blooms! Don’t limit yourself to just flowers. You can grow your own fresh herbs or use them for storage. Don’t forget to have some chalk handy so you can write labels or cute doodles! 🙂

Star Spangled Shorty

My first DIY involving clothing and let me tell you, it was a challenge for me. Took about 2 days for me to finish due to my hectic schedule, but I am some what pleased with them. I am definitely packing these with me when I go to Orlando this weekend. I’m so Patriotic!

DSC_0782Try on your jeans and use your pen to mark how short you want to cut them.

Use a razor or box cutter to distress your shorts. You can distress them as much as YOU want. Have fun!

Be careful not to cut the areas where you will place your bandana.

Grab your fabric glue and outline around the seams with glue. It’s ok to put dabs of glue in the middle on the side you will put the stars since it will not show through as much.

(I learned the hard way on the stripe side)DSC_0791

Cut the stars section from your bandana and place it on the shorts and press down gently. I let it dry over night just to be safe.

Once dry, grab your scissors and cut the edges of the bandana as close to the seams of the short as possible.

Now you are ready to do the other side. Just repeat the same steps for this side.

I had to double up on my stripes side because the glue was showing through.

Super Cute!

I will be sure to post how I styled them for your guys!

Please do not use a REAL FLAG.

I purchased the Bandana and Fabric Glue from my local Craft store.

Glittered Jars for Make-Up Brushes

So, I saw these cute jars on PINTEREST and I couldn’t wait to give it a try myself. I normally have my make-up brushes all over the place or in a boring plastic bin. These jars add some glitz and glamour to your make-up vanity. You don’t have to just use them as a home for you make-up brushes. You can also store your lip and eyeliners, pens and pencils or just about anything you want!
