Hard Rock and Rooftops

The perfect place to be on a beautiful summer night is a rooftop with a view honey! Lately I enjoy going to the rooftop at Hard Rock Seattle. It isn’t the tallest but, it has a good view that overlooks Pike Place Market. Very nice at night too! Here are a couple of fits I wore the times I visited.

Happy 4th USA!

I love the 4th of July! It’s my favorite holiday (yes, I love it more than my own birthday). I don’t know why. Maybe because it’s in the peak of summer, it’s hot, there are cookouts, festivities and tons of fun stuff to do on the 4th. And FIREWORKS! (so romantical lol). This was my first year that I wasn’t on the Eastcoast for the 4th. Seattle had a lot of fun things to do for the 4th all throughout the city. I spent it at South Lake Union. Went to happy hour, hung around downtown until the Fireworks show. South Lake Union was packed with people, music and good vibes. I really enjoyed myself.

Summer Reads: June

So, I have decided to spend my summer getting my read on! As you all know, I LOVE books! I recently started a part-time gig at my local library. Let’s just say I’m in book heaven! Of course I am the only dweeb to have like 22 books checked out at once (hehe, or maybe not :-P). Then I came up with the idea of doing a monthly summer reading list. Each month during the summer I will share with you guess what books I am reading for the month. The list will include Fiction and NonFiction books from different genres. I’m so excited! Here is my Summer Reading List for June!

I’ve actually finished this one already. It was laugh out loud funny! Good story line. It was the black version of the movie “16 Candles” and the main character’s favorite movie. I finished this book in 2 days. I couldn’t put it down. Such a fun read and cute love story.

jesus book

one more thing

You know him from being the writer of the show “The Office.” This book is filled short stories. They will make you laugh, think and even say “aaawww”. I am enjoying this one so far. Had to read it quick to return back to the library (LOL). Plus, I love the simple black and white cover.

February Bath & Beauty Favs

It has been a loonnggg time since I have posted my monthly bath and beauty favs. I’m finally getting settle in my new state (WASHINGTON), so I am now able to fill you all in on what I have been using for my bath and beauty regimen :-)

Maybelline’s “Dream Nude Airform” is my go to foundation for “everyday” wear. It goes on light but, provides me with the right about of coverage for a natural look . A little goes a long way with this foundation.Total-Coverage-Spot-Scar-Eraser

I have been using Black Opal’s “Total Coverage” concealer on and off for years now (Since Undergrad). It’s basically magic in a tube. You can wear it with or without foundation. It really camouflages and blends well. I’m glad I added this back to my make-up routine.
True Blue LotionSince I’ve moved to Washington State, I have noticed how dry my skin has become. So, I have been on the hunt for a skin moisturizer and Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa “Super Rich Body Cream” is a winner! The shea butter ingredient really helps to soften and moisturize my skin. It is a little thick, but once applied it goes on smooth. Keeps my skin moisturized all day. Two Thumbs Up!

What it says on the bottle, it speaks the truth! Once I paint my nails, I just add a coat of Sally Hansen’s “Diamond Strength No Chip” nail color and I’m good to go. My nail color last longer and ugly chipping!

Bath and Body Works “Carried Away” Body Butter is awesome. This is one of my favorite fragrances by them. I shower with the “Carried Away” body wash and then I apply the body butter while my skin is still a little wet.

I feel so bad for neglecting my other blushes but MAC’s “PeachTwist” is my go to whenever I wear makeup! Beautiful shade for my skintone! I absolutely love it!

TheStylishDork’s 1st Street Style Feature!

Hey everyone! I am so excited to share with you guys my first street style feature! I was coming from brunch (on my way to the new ZARA store in downtown Seattle) and a nice woman stopped me and asked if I was interested in being featured. The blog is for an energy drink company who wanted to showcase women in what they call “Passion meets Fashion.” She asked me questions about myself, my blog and my style inspiration. Check out my feature and other photos from the day below!
